Eye drops do not cure dry eyes

The tear film consists of water and oil, with the oil preventing evaporation. Lubricating eye drops don't cure dry eyes; treatment is needed to restore the oil layer. The meibomian glands produce this oil, but excessive dryness can cause overproduction, leading to blocked glands (meibomitis) and potentially styes if untreated.

Meibomitis

70% of dry eyes result from meibomitis, or blocked oil glands. Unblocking these glands can cure your dry eyes!

Commonest cause of dry eyes is meibomitis or blocked oil which needs to be melted and expressed.
